How to Ensure One-Click Unsubscribe and Marketing Cloud Play Nice

New subscription guidelines go into effect for Gmail and Yahoo
Beginning in 2024, Google and Yahoo will enforce new guidelines regarding message authentication, unsubscription flows, and spam rates for bulk senders (any users sending over 5,000 messages a day). These new regulations are designed to create a better experience for customers who want to unsubscribe with just one click.
The new guidelines from Yahoo and Google include:
- Meet email authentication standards, including DKIM, SPF and DMARC.
- Implement one-click unsubscribe, and honor unsubscribe requests within two days.
- Keep the spam complaint rate below 0.3%.
In order to maintain full compliance, email marketers must make sure that when the one-click unsubscribe is clicked in the headers of their emails, the unsubscribe is honored in Marketing Cloud.
Easily deploy one-click unsubscribe to land in the right inboxes.
Our team of marketing cloud experts has enhanced our Custom Preference Center and Data Model to comply with these new rules. Additionally, they have developed a solution that is quick to deploy and helps email marketers quickly understand and implement the necessary authentication required to ensure their bulk emails meet these new standards, preventing any negative impact on their email programs and sender score.
